Plai, Zingiber montanum, is a lesser known plant from the ginger family. It is also known as Thai ginger, where it is traditionally used for aromatherapy purposes as well as topically.
Just like its cousin, Plai is hot! but boasts a unique anti inflammatory & analgesic action and as such is incredible when infused into oil for topical use. This traditional use was confirmed in a clinical study in 2017 showing measurable efficacy in pain reduction.
The herb also features notable antimicrobial and anti-fungal actions as well.
This oil is especially useful for those who are colder and moister in constitution as the oil is hot and dry. Great for those with Vata, Kapha constitutions
