Urj al Lawiya is also known as the “Indian screw tree”. It is the seed that is used here and has a plethora of traditional uses including: digestion, flatulence, inflammation, expectorant, wounds, blood sugar support, parasites, snake bites and more. It has notable anti oxidant properties and studies indicate its extracts are useful against resistant pathogens. A study noted that ethanol extracts of this herb has notable antinociceptive properties as well, which supports traditional use for pain relief.
